While vacationing in Bali, explore also other areas outside Canggu. The general rule is: always be cautious and respectful, some of the tourist attractions are considered sacred by the locals.

UBUD This artsy village known for its rice filed terraces and yoga retreats, it is about 1 hr to 1,5 hr drive from Canggu.

  4. Gunung Kawi Temple. An ancient temples complex that are carved right our of a rock wall.

  5. Tirta Empul Temple (Holy water temple). You could bathe here for clensing your body & soul.

  6. Tegenungan Waterfall (some steps but not too bad), You can check these other waterfalls too: Kanto Lampo dan Tibumana Waterfall

ULUWATU has dubbed as mecca of (more advanced) surfers, with its clear water, white sand beaches and limestone cliffs. Located in the Southern tip of Bali island, Uluwatu has some of the most scenic beaches.

  1. Suluban Beach, lots of stairs/steps to go down, and don’t forget to check hidden beach behind the cliff.

  2. Uluwatu Temple for Fire Dance during Sunset, it is worth to see despite of very touristy spot.

  3. Thomas Beach soft white sands beach for relaxing .

  4. Eat Seafood in Jimbaran/Kedonganan by the beach during sunset (Manega Restaurant is the most famous one, could get really busy). During daytime you could also visit Kedonganan Fish Market and many vendor could cook it for you. 

  5. Sunset Point Uluwatu this laid back bar and pool is one of the nice spot to catch the sunset in Uluwatu.

  6. Padang Padang Beach small sandy beach that gets more popular since the Eat Pray Love movie.

  7. Dream Land Beach, easy to reach (not a lot of steps).

  8. Partying at the trendy Beach clubs: Savaya, however Ulu CliffHouse has a cozy ambiance for spend the lazy afternoon. Both places only open till 10 pm unless they have special event.

BEDUGUL is mountainous area in the center Northern area of Bali. The climate is quite dramatically different than what you get used to in other area of Bali. It could get cold and foggy, don’t forget to bring a long a light sweater/jacket when visiting this area. It is also home to numerous

  1. Lake Beratan and Ulun Danu Beratan Temple another iconic Balinese temple located just at the edge of the ancient volcanic lake of Beratan

  2. Take picture at Handara Golf Course Balinese Gate. For the past years this spot gain popularity among insta users to get that enchanting balinese gate backdrop photos.

  3. See the twin lake (Tamblingan & Buyan) from the ridge while having coffee at Warung Nerike (they sell homemade fruit jam) or other warungs along the way

  4. Choose one or more of many waterfalls, Banyumala, Munduk, GitGit, Sekumpul, Aling-Aling etc. (some of them charge to enter :( and require long hikes and steep steps. Please be aware that sometimes access to these waterfalls can be slippery. Be cautious and make sure that you are fit for the hikes.

  5. Stop by at the Roti Bedugul Bakery for freshly baked snacks (delicious cookies and pastries)

  6. Jatiluwih Rice Terraces enjoy cup of hot tea while looking at the endless rice field terraces in Jatiluwih village.


North Kuta: TABANAN, CANGGU, BERAWA

  1. Tanah Lot Temple one of iconic Balinese Temple located on top of stone formation on the beach, during high tide this temple will be surrounded by sea water

  2. Surfing at Berawa Beach, Echo Beach, Batu Bolong Beach

  3. Explore Batu Bolong Street for stores and cafes

  4. Hang out in beach style in Alternative Beach Canggu

  5. Explore Berawa Area for delicious breakfast, brunch and lovely shops.

  6. Enjoy nightlife at many low-key yet stylish hidden bars. Instagram is the best resources.

  7. Finns Beach Clubs for sun, music, food and lots of fun.

  8. Get fit doing yoga, cross fit or fitness classes at Fortitude, S2S Cross Fit, Body Factory and many more.

NUSA PENIDA is an island just about 1 hour boat ride from Sanur, Bali. It offers a white sandy beaches among dramatic topography of limestones cliffs.

  1. Kelingking Beach, nice view from the top but the beach is extraordinary. Climb down could be really challenging, make sure you are in fit conditions and make sure the beach condition is safe. Please follow the local guide and regulations.

  2. Crystal Bay (nice Sunset)

  3. Gamat Bay

  4. Broken Beach & Angel Billabong (be cautious at this area, respect local rules, some incidents happened before)

  5. Hidden water falls, long hike. As the access is too steep for motorcycle.

  6. Snorkel with Manta rays

NUSA LEMBONGAN & NUSA CENINGAN these two small island is connected by the iconic yellow bridge that can only fit people and motorcycle. It is small enough to explore in just 1 or 2 days.

  1. Dream Beach arrive early to beat the crowd in this scenic beach. Enjoy the scenes while having an ice cold bear after swimming in the safe area of the beach (wave can be high and strong)

  2. Devil Tears close to Dream Beach this reefs formation is a favorite spot for taking pictures, but be cautious and don’t go so close to the edge. Sudden big waves has swept tourist before while they taking pictures.

  3. Hang out and chill at Sandy Bay Beach Club

  4. Snorkel with Manta rays

SEMINYAK & PETITENGET another area that is dotted with trendy restaurants, bars, cafes and shops

  1. Explore Petitenget beach and Double Six Beach

  2. Explore area for spa (our fav: Bodyworks), cafes (Revolver, Titik Temu), shops, romantic and fine dining restaurants, bars and clubs for nightlife.

  3. Explore nightlife at Kayu Aya, Oberoi and Camplung Tanduk area for dance & music.

  4. More Beach Clubs: Potato Head is the most famous, or more casual option: Mrs. Sippy, also legendary KUDETA,


Other things to do:

Sunrise hike to Mount and Lake Batur (tour) will start early at AM. Make sure to contact local guide and follow local regulations.

Explore East Bali: Amed area, Lempuyang Temple, Besakih Temple at Mount Agung, Bali Safari and Bird Park. Having a tranquil time at Sidemen
